Midas of Richmond, a six-location shop with nearly three decades of built community trust, is proof that owning the right tools can make all the difference. In its newest location in Churchill, Virginia, co-owner Mark Smith integrated Autel’s latest equipment. This includes the IA900 ADAS calibration frame, an ADAS Bay Max lift, and the MaxiSYS Ultra scan tool. By focusing on ADAS calibration, alignments, and diagnostics, Midas of Richmond has expanded its service offerings and increased revenue through the added capabilities that come with Autel systems.
ADAS Calibration as a Revenue Driver
Mark shares how ADAS calibration became a key revenue driver. The system allows easy steering angle adjustments and sensor calibrations.
“Historically, alignments have been a one-source revenue code. Did you do an alignment or did you not?” Mark said. “With Autel and with ADAS, now you’ve got the calibrations, you’ve got steering angle of inclination – you’ve got all of those services that fit right into a much broader alignment ticket. The alignment can go from a $120-$140 line item on a repair order to potentially $400-$800.”
Staying Ahead of the Competition
The success of Midas of Richmond shows that investing in top-tier equipment isn’t just about keeping up with technology. It’s about staying ahead of the competition and offering customers the highest level of service.
